Oxnard police said they arrested a man Wednesday reported to have brandished a firearm at his neighbors.
The incident was reported at 3:45 p.m. at a residence in the 400 block of West Birch Street.
Police said they arrived and learned the suspect, identified as Manuel Pantoja, 46, of Oxnard, was engaged in an argument with his neighbor. During the argument, Pantoja went into his residence, grabbed a hunting rifle, returned to the front of the residence and pointed it at two of his neighbors, authorities said.

Upon investigation, officers learned Pantoja was on probation and was prohibited by law from owning or possessing a firearm. A search of Pantoja’s residence uncovered the hunting rifle, which witnesses later identified as the one used in the brandishing incident, according to police.
Pantoja was arrested on suspicion of brandishing a firearm and having a firearm while prohibited, authorities said. He was booked into county jail, authorities said.
